Together Hulontalo (Gorontalo), Bolaang Mongondow a great kingdom in North Sulawesi. Bitung surrounding his rule until now Bolmong region, means including Manado and Minahasa. Punu ‘we, the rulers are elected by the chiefs prior to the prevailing system of hereditary Datu, which regarded as a king named Damopolii in Minahasa Manado which is better known by Ramopolii. Even in Ternate there Loloda village allegedly taken from the name of Datu (designation for the king) we named Loloda Mokoagow, a King who is always clashing with the Dutch colonial ploy.

Bolaang Mongondow it consists of two words, “Bolaang” and “Mongondow”. “Bolaang” can mean many things, could mean “ocean”, “open space” which comes from the word “nobolang” or may also be taken from one of the tribes who lived here, the tribe “Bolango” Molibagu inhabiting a language such as language mixture Bolaang Mongondow and Gorontalo. While “Mongondow” can mean “mainland” (as opposed to “sea”) or “shouts” that comes from the word “momondow” naming for the largest ethnic tribe in Bolaang Mongondow ie “Mongondow”.

Bolaang Mongondow can mean all sorts. Could mean “sea and land”, history proves Bolaang Mongondow ever roamed the Earth and oceans.

Mongondow Bolaang actually very strong and very clever in playing strategy. Together with other kingdoms in the archipelago was formed persyarikatan called his Mongondow Boentoen which means “drive out”. This Boentoen royal Persyarikatan expel foreign powers who want to try to master the archipelago. Bolaang Mongondow one who had expelled the kingdom of Genghis Khan. In the map of Majapahit, Bolaang Mongondow nothing because Bolaang Mongondow is a friend of Majapahit, as well as Sriwidjaya.

In the past if there was war, ethnic Dayaks in general using their trademark weapons,”Mandau”.”Mandau” is an heirloom that generations used by the Dayak tribes and regarded as a sacred object. Besides being used at the time of the battle Mandau is also commonly used by the Dayak tribes to accompany them in performing their daily activities, such as slashing or cutting meat, herbs, or other objects that need to be cut.

Usually the layman will often confusion between “Mandau” and “Ambang”. Lay people or people who are not accustomed to seeing or even holding the saber will be difficult to distinguish between “Mandau” with “Ambang” because when viewed in plain view is both about the same. However, both are very different. But if we look in more detail later on it will show a very significant difference, ie there are carvings on the Mandau or the encrusted gold, copper, or silver and Mandau more powerful and flexible, because the saber made of mountain stone containing iron and processed by an expert. While the ambang is only made of ordinary iron.

Ambang Birang,Bitang mandau or Adjunct Pono Kajau should be stored and cared for a special place to honor. Because of the Dayak tribes believe that Mandau has a spiritual power that will protect the owner from attacks or malicious intent of his opponents. And the Mandau is also believed to be guarded by a woman, and if the owner is a dream Mandau met with women who inhabit the Mandau, means the owner will get a fortune.

Besides Mandau made of iron and carved volcanic rocks, returned or upstream Mandau (a place for holding) made using buffalo horn carving in to the back of his black. And using deer antlers for the home, which is white. Making home can also use wood kayamihing. At the end of the home were given or placed fur or human hair. To be able tight a Mandau with a home can use the sap wood which proved to be very strong sambun to tighten.after then tied it again with jangang, but if jangang hard to find can use uei (rattan).

Mantikei iron used to manufacture the raw materials can be found in areas Shells saber Gambir, Jangkang Karo rivers, tributaries of the river Mantikei Samba deviation Katingan river, and villages Atei tumbles.

Presumably incomplete if it does not have kumpang Mandau. Kumpang is called glove for Mandau, Mandau kumpang Gated entry of the eye is usually coated antlers saber. In kumpang Mandau given tempuser statute, namely made of woven ties uei (rattan).

On the front kumpang made a glove save langgei puai small place. Langgei puai is a type of small knife as a complement to saber. Stem length of about 20 cm from the eye anggei, shape smaller than the stem. Function of langgei puai is to smooth or clean objects, for example rattan. Gloves or kumpang langgei always embedded in kumpang Mandau. So that it can be said that between saber and langgei puai is a unity that can not be separated.

Any musical instrument can be made from anything, ranging from wood, iron, brass, copper, stone and even the bones of a dead animal.

Like a flute or some kind of flute found in an old cave in Germany.

The flute is made from bird bones weaverbird and estimated by the archaeologist is the world’s oldest musical instrument.

Bone flute was about 40,000 years old and was discovered by the archaeologist from the University of Tuebingen in the Hohle Fels, a stone cave in southern Germany.

The terdii distilled from a five-hole and V-shaped upper section to be blown. The width of the holes and measures 8 millimeters long by 34 centimeters flute.

Previously also found pieces of flute in the vicinity of the cave, precisely in Geissenklösterle 35 000 years old.

“Apart from bird bones weaverbird, we also never found a flute made of mammoth ivory. Mammoth ivory flute-making more difficult to extract from the bones of birds, “said Nicholas Conard, one of the researchers from the University of Tuebingen, Germany.

Formerly a musical instrument like a flute is used not only for playing music but rather used as a means of communication. In fact, the instrument can also be used as a tool for daily activities and weapons to protect themselves.

Besides playing music using instruments made by themselves can tighten their relationships between ancient society at that time.

Make a Kecapi is not easy. Although glance looks like a harp, a simple instrument, but it makes it not easy. For the raw material is only made of wood Boxwood first soaked for three months. While the strings, if you want to produce good tone, the atmosphere should be of wire (alloy of gold and copper), such as the lute that was made long ago. Since the atmosphere is currently expensive, more strings Santol now using steel wire.
