Toraja tribe that there now is not the native tribes, but a tribe of migrants. According to the trust or Myth which is still adhered to, interest derived from the that Toraja tribe are come from heaven down on an island Lebukan.

Then, in waves, using their boat came to the southern part of Sulawesi. In this island they settled around the lake Tempe, where they founded the village. These settlements grew into more and Bugis Village. Among the people who inhabit this village there is a person who left the village and went north and settled in the mountains Kandora, and in the regions Enrekang. These people are considered to be an ancestor Toraja tribe.

Did you know that Bugis,Bugis ethnic group or family is not just one tribe but a clump 14 Bugis tribes. These tribes, among others, Interest Bentong, Bugis, Campalagian, Duri, Enrekang, Pagunungan Konjo, Coastal Konjo, Luwu, Maiwa, Interest Makassar, Mamuju, Mandar, Pannei and Ulumanda.

Most people of Muslim Bugis. From the aspect of cultural, ethnic Bugis have their own language, known as the “Ugi language” ,who has written letters Bugis, Bugis language spoken by himself. This letter has been around since the 12th century, when the widening influence of Hinduism in Indonesia.
